2 days to go!

Dear Parents
The Christmas Fair is only a few days away and its will be a lovely family outing.
Please consider supporting the fair, not only by coming along to enjoy the games, stalls and food, but also by donating what you can manage before hand.
We would be grateful to receive more items for the tombola’s, hamper, lucky dip, Christmas jumper recycle and items for the home baking stall.
In addition if you can help with your time in the setting up, running or tidy up we would be pleased to have you.
The funds raised will go towards more great resources for all our children. At the last Parent Council meeting further funding approvals were granted on your behalf for £2700 to complete the set of google class room chrome books and for £1000 on the pantomime that the children will enjoy next month. All of these things would not be possible without the support of the parents around the Christmas and Summer fairs which are our main fundraising opportunities.
Thank you for all that you have to offer.

Over the years, the Christmas Fair has proven to be a huge hit with the school children and their families, as well as a major fundraiser for the school. We hope to repeat the track record this year and continue to raise funds that benefit all our children and allow us to provide things which the city council budget does not cover. This year the funds raised have provided science week workshops (£2k), Scottish music experiences, google chrome books (£4k), sporting equipment and a library subscription (£1k) amongst other things. With your help we can continue to provide the extras that our children enjoy and deserve.

However, behind all the ‘Fun of the Fair’, we need donations for the stalls and a team of volunteers and hopefully that includes you. Please consider helping, on the run up to the day or on the fair day itself. We have a fantastic school community please come and enjoy it in every way.

Please help with

Donations to the chocolate and bottle/gift tombola, one luxury raffle prize hamper and the lucky dips are needed now. These stalls have always been the big crowd pleasers in the previous years!

Thank you in advance for every contribution you can make.

Volunteers: To help with the co-ordination and preparations before the fair, all aspects on the day of the fair (setting up and serving the stalls), in addition to after the fair (tidying up).  If you have any ideas, or could create a new game or a craft please get in touch.

Cooks and Bakers: The international hot food each year has been wonderful, and we would love to offer this again. We are still looking for more people to volunteer and add to the menu. If there is anything simple and delicious that you can whip up/donate or if you would simply like to assist in the food preparation for the day at the school kitchen, please get in touch with the co-ordinators:

Please note that we can reimburse the money you spend for the hot food ingredients, upon request.

Do remember to bring in the hot food and bakes (no nuts) on Friday, 02 December before 3:15 p.m. or on the day of the fair, to the kitchen and stalls located in the dining hall in the basement.

Christmas Jumper Recycle- new this year

Please donate old clean Christmas tops/jumpers for recycling via the classes before the fair. Hopefully you can choose a replacement ready for this year’s Christmas jumper day and all the festivities that follow. All tops will be sold for £1-£2

Also, as with previous years, there are opportunities for stalls rental. Miss Pirie in the nursery is coordinating the tables. Please advise her if you or anybody you know may be interested in renting a stall to promote their own business and sell products. Stall fee £10 plus a raffle prize.

Please find attached the volunteers’ forms for more details. The form will be distributed on blue paper. If you are happy to help, please send them back either through the main office or in your child’s folders or email a response to

Please remember, we need every little bit of help that YOU can offer and we need it NOW! Let’s all work together and make this event a huge success!

Kind regards,
