 Remember to take in any unwanted electronic equipment to school for recycling and secure data wiping! The deadline has been extended to Friday 9th December!

So many electronic devices are ending up in landfill sites or stashed In a drawer or cupboard at home!!

Help us to collect and reuse more electronic Equipment.

St Joseph’s RC Primary School is taking part in an Aberdeen City Council initiative to improve collections of used, but functional consumer electronics for reuse. Please support this initiative by donating unwanted equipment.

We will gladly accept:

Laptops                        Desktop/Inkjet Printers
Tablets                          Personal Computers
Digital Cameras           Computer components e.g. memory sticks
Flat screen Monitors   Mobile phones
Printer Cartridges        Satnavs
Networking items        Digital Set Top Boxes
Gaming Devices            Miscellaneous Audio/ Video Devices

All products will be refurbished and data bearing equipment donated will be wiped by Re-Tek’s (retek.co.uk) CESG government approved data erasure software. This is the same data erasure software used by the military.

Funds raised through the collection service will be donated to St Joseph’s School. This electrical reuse project is a partnership between Aberdeen City Council, Re-Tek, a specialist ICT re-sale company (http://re-tek.co.uk/ and Enscape, a resource efficiency consultancy (www.enscape.eu). Collections are being undertaken by a local third sector organisation.

Your school will be automatically entered into the “Green Santa Competition”, where the school that collects the highest number of items will receive a prize.

Equipment can be sent into school with your child or dropped off by yourself with the receptionist. It will be stored in a secure container in the school until collection date. Please bring in any unwanted equipment by Monday 5th December 2016. Please note that we can only accept electronics from households (ie. No business electronic equipment)
