Fairtrade Fortnight 2015 is nearly here!
23rd of February – 8th of March 2015.
Between these dates we celebrate and think about Fairtrade and how our little everyday actions have an impact on people’s lives far away from us.
At St Joseph’s we support Fairtrade, since we are a FairActive school. Our Fairtrade Group is working really hard to put together a few activities and events to mark Fairtrade Fortnight as we always do.
Dates to remember:
Monday, 23rd February: The Fairtrade Group will share their plans during Assembly with the rest of the school.
Thursday, 26th February: Fairtrade Fun Day! Activities will be held in each class to work on Fairtrade. Dress in Fairtrade colours: black, green or blue (think of the Fairtrade logo!).
Friday, 27th February: ‘BIG BREW’ event. Welcoming all members of our school community to come in for a cup of Fairtrade tea or coffee. From 9.30 to 11.00 am. Any parent helpers for this event would be really appreciated.
We will also have “St Joseph’s Big Fairtrade Bake off” competition. We would like to invite everyone, children, staff and parents, to get involved and bake for us! The only rule is that you need to use as many Fairtrade ingredients as possible in your recipe. Prizes to be won. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE PRESENTED BY 9.00am on Friday morning, when entries will be judged.
In the afternoon, P4/5 will have their class Assembly, where they will share with their families and the whole school their message about Fairtrade.
Please get involved and help us mark 20 years of Fairtrade!
